Maria's passion for fashion started watching her mother design and sew her pretty dresses in her Singer sewing machine. Her mother's talent inspired her to pursue her life in fashion.
Starting in her early 20's, she would buy wholesale apparel, alter them if needed, to her style and market them in homes and offices in New York. She also coordinated fashion shows to introduce young talented designers in fashion shows and event venues.
Maria's experience as production manager at fashion houses in New York City cultivated her talent for fashion style, and expertise for the famous method of fabric pleating known as 'French Plisse', also widely known as 'Crinkles', which her collection specializes in. It also inspired her in 2008 to start her own fashion business in her studio apartment in the Bronx.
Styles are perfect for the busy and savvy woman on the go, the pleating and crushed method makes packing a breeze, with the additional bliss of no ironing needed. These styles are one-of-a-kind, so the styles you see are the only ones available!
During the pandemic Maria's business had to pivot by developing the art of upcycling apparel, also referred to as restyling or refashion. By adding embellishments, fabrics, appliques and trims she can turn a dull, tiresome garment into a new trendy style. She also began to include a size inclusive collection to make sure that women of all sizes can also look chic and trendy.
